Privacy Policy

1.1 Extension

The Extension processes music audio locally in your browser. It also communicates with our servers for licensing, usage analytics, preset ratings, and referrals, as described below. Specifically:

• The Extension analyzes audio from Spotify, YouTube Music, Yandex Music, or a tab you select for the any-tab visualizer. If you turn on the optional YouTube video glow, it also analyzes the sound of the video playing on youtube.com, inside that page, after you grant access to youtube.com. Audio is processed within your browser and is not recorded or sent to our servers. If you use video export, your selected audio file is used to render a video on your device.
• User preferences are stored using the browser's built-in storage API. Usage events may include the selected preset ID, visualizer mode, provider, session duration and, for the any-tab visualizer, a coarse category of the captured site (for example youtube, twitch or other), never its address; preset ratings may be synced with our servers.
• The Extension does not send browsing history, page text, track names, or playlist contents with its usage events.

1.2 Pro License Verification

If you purchase Deus Pro, the Extension may contact our licensing server to activate and verify your license status. These checks may transmit your license key, a randomly generated installation ID, and the installed extension version. They do not include your Spotify, YouTube or Yandex Music account, listening history, track audio, playlists, or browsing history.

1.3 Preset Ratings, Referrals, and Usage Events

The Extension may contact our server to sync preset likes/dislikes, referral reward progress, and usage events such as install, popup opened, preset selection, visualizer sessions, fullscreen usage, and feature activation. These events use randomly generated installation/client IDs. When available, a website session ID connects the website visit to the extension installation and later conversion. These events do not include track audio, song titles, playlists, Spotify, YouTube or Yandex Music accounts, or browsing history outside the supported music pages.

Usage events also include the language the Extension is shown in (and whether you picked it in the settings), the browser's interface language and a coarse browser name (for example Chrome, Edge or Opera). When the server receives them, it records the country of the connection as reported by our CDN, Cloudflare, for that installation; the IP address is not stored. When a visual fails to draw (a preset that does not compile or load on your graphics card, a lost graphics context, settings that could not be saved), the Extension sends the type of error, the preset ID, a general graphics chip family (for example Intel, NVIDIA, AMD or Apple, never the model or driver version), the Chrome major version and the operating system name. We use this to find presets and releases that break on some computers, and to see whether each language version of Deus works. When Deus lowers its rendering quality because a visual runs slowly, and at the end of a visualizer session, the Extension also sends coarse performance figures: the preset ID, the quality level, the measured and target frames per second, the share of slow seconds, and whether the computer was running on battery (never the battery level).

1.4 Website

When you visit the Site, we may collect standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the date and time of your request. This information is used solely to maintain and improve the Site.

We also collect privacy-preserving, first-party visit analytics to understand which channels bring people to the Site. For each visit we record the acquisition source (e.g. direct link, search, or a social platform), the two-letter country code provided by our CDN, your browser language, and a random session identifier stored in your browser's local storage. This identifier can connect a website visit with an installation or purchase. We do not store your raw IP address or full user-agent for this purpose — only hashes — and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

If you like or dislike a preset on the Site, we store your vote with a random identifier kept in a first-party cookie and in your browser's local storage, so the same browser keeps one vote per preset and can change or remove it. The identifier is not linked to your email, license, or extension installation.

After the Extension is removed, Chrome may open a page on the Site that asks why. If you pick a reason, we store only that reason, the extension version, your browser language, the country code provided by our CDN, and a hash of your IP address (used to filter automated answers). No free text, email, or installation ID is collected.

All payments for Deus Pro are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"). Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record and handles all payment data, including credit card information. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Paddle's handling of your payment data is governed by Paddle's Privacy Policy.

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and maintain the Extension and Site;
• Verify Pro license status;
• Operate referral rewards and understand aggregate feature usage;
• Respond to support requests;
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

• Paddle — for payment processing and purchase management;
• Law enforcement or regulatory bodies — when required by law.

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. License keys, installation IDs, and purchase records are retained for as long as needed to provide license recovery, verify Pro access, operate referral rewards, process refunds, and comply with legal obligations.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we process. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

The Extension and Site are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
