Cyber Tunnel Monotonic
Watch Cyber Tunnel Monotonic live in the browser
A flight down a winding tunnel built from stacked translucent discs, each patterned with seven- or eight-petal flower shapes, etched lines and a glowing rim. Everything is lit in a single hue: when a run starts, the preset picks one random colour and uses it for both the main and the accent light, so each session has its own monochrome look.
The tunnel's path, petal count, flight speed and drift are also seeded per run. Near layers listen to the bass, middle ones to the mids and the farthest to the treble, and when a loud passage drops away the image softens into a calmer release state.
What it reacts to
- Bass: compresses the rings of each disc and lights the nearest layers
- Treble: runs sparks along the petal edges and lights the far layers
- Notes: six harmonic lanes, one per pair of pitch classes, light up around the tunnel as those notes sound
- Loudness and onsets: speed the flight slightly, bloom fine detail and brighten the rims
- A drop after a loud passage: the release state dims the sparks and calms the image
Tune
Color picks a random hue per run or a Custom color, and Base speed and Rotation speed scale the flight and the camera roll.
Music that suits it
Melodic electronic music such as progressive house or trance, with clear chords, solid bass and bright highs, uses all three: the lanes, the near rings and the sparks.
