Divine Tunnel

A frame of the Divine Tunnel preset in Deus.

A slow flight down a winding tunnel of stacked, translucent panes. Each pane is a rose window: a kaleidoscope of 11 to 14 petals with braided Celtic knot bands, halo rings and stained-glass colour in gold, sapphire and rose.

The panes are blended from back to front like layers of glass, so the far ones show through the near ones. The path, petal count and patterns are seeded when the preset starts, so each run is a slightly different chapel. When a loud passage suddenly drops away, the tunnel softens and dims for a moment before the next build.

What it reacts to

  • Spectrum by depth: near panes follow the bass, middle ones the mids, far ones the treble
  • Notes: six lanes around the window light up by pitch, and note energy tints the glass
  • Bass pulses: the rings of each pane breathe outward
  • Treble: sparks run along the petal edges
  • Loud peaks: the whole tunnel glows brighter; a sudden drop softens it

Tune

Base speed sets how fast the tunnel flies and its patterns drift, and Rotation speed sets how fast it rolls.

Music that suits it

Choral, orchestral or slow melodic electronic music with sustained notes suits its pace and lights the pitch lanes, and builds and drops show the glow and the release.
